Sunny’s Story is a compelling drug prevention story for children, adolescents, teenagers, parents, grandparents, and teachers. This drug prevention story tells of joyful times and sad times, and of how a dog’s best friend was needlessly lost to drugs. Sunny’s Story is narrated through the eyes, ears and mind of Sunny, the family beagle. It is about the ups and downs of life with his young master, beginning with their meeting at an animal shelter, and ending with a futile effort to ward off disaster.

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse is a national nonprofit research and policy organization focused on improving the understanding, prevention and treatment of substance use and addiction. Founded in 1992 by former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, Joseph A. Califano, Jr, our interdisciplinary experts collaborate with others to promote effective policies and practices. We conduct and synthesize research, inform and guide the public, evaluate and improve healthcare, and analyze and recommend policies on substance use and addiction.

Suncoast Kids Place provides support for children, teens and their families following the death of a significant person through peer support groups and education. Our goal is to offer support in a safe place where children, teens and families can share their experience as they move through their grief process.

Our purpose is to lead the Tampa/Hillsborough County Continuum of Care (CoC) in collaboration with agencies in order to develop and provide innovative solutions to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in Hillsborough County.
This collaboration with a wide range of partners (homeless service providers, government officials, advocates, business and community leaders, and people who are homeless) engages and mobilizes systems of care on a local, regional and national level to develop effective prevention and intervention services for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Addiction is a preventable, treatable but not curable disease.  No one would ever choose a life of addiction however it is  poor choices lead a person to a life of addiction.  Often misinformation or lack of information play a key role to making these poor, life changing choices.  For this reason drug prevention education is essential in every school, community center and home.

The National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors, Inc. (NASADAD) is a private, not-for-profit educational, scientific, and informational organization. The Association was originally incorporated in 1971 to serve State Drug Agency Directors, and then in 1978 the membership was expanded to include State Alcoholism Agency Directors.

Hillsborough County Anti Drug Alliance (HCADA) has been in existence, active in the community, and supportive of law enforcement, the court system, prevention agencies, and substance abuse treatment providers since its inception in 1989. In 2003, HCADA restructured as a 501(c)(3) in order to apply for grant funding and subsequently, expanded its community-based alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse education and prevention activities, as well as participation in the development of related planning strategies – statewide in scope – for the betterment of the Hillsborough County community.
